The German concern Mercedes-Benz Group AG plans to sell part of its stake in Daimler Truck Holding AG in order to raise funds amid declining sales. This is reported by foreign media with reference to financial director Harald Wilhelm.
Mercedes-Benz intends to sell part of the 35% stake in Daimler Truck at a total stake value of 12 billion euros ($14.2 billion).
The proceeds from the transaction will be returned to the shareholders. The financial terms of the deal will be published in May 2026.
From the point of view of Mercedes management, in 2026, "margins will at best remain at the same level amid trade tensions and fierce competition in China," forcing the company to cut costs in order to save money.
Mercedes retained a stake in Daimler Truck, the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, after separating the division in 2021, focusing on the production of vans and passenger cars.
