In the Kirov region, within the framework of the federal project "Closed-loop Economy" of the national project "Environmental Well-being", it is planned to create new waste sorting stations and municipal solid waste disposal facilities. This was announced by Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, which issued a positive opinion on the construction of the complex.
It is planned to place a waste sorting complex, a waste composting site, ponds for collecting filtration, surface and treated wastewater, local sewage treatment plants, a pumping station, platforms for special equipment and other technological and auxiliary facilities and communications at the MSW management site in Vyatskopolyansky district. All facilities will be provided with unhindered access for technological, emergency and fire vehicles.
The capacity of the MSW reception complex will be 20 thousand tons per year, and 8 thousand tons of waste per year are planned to be disposed of at the composting site. A network of observation wells will be created to monitor and assess the impact of the projected facility on the state of groundwater. Radiation monitoring and other measures will also be carried out for the safe operation of the MSW complex and minimal environmental impact, said Svetlana Beginina, the chief expert of the project, whose words are quoted in the message.
