Bank DOM.RF is selling at auction a historic building of the early twentieth century in the center of St. Petersburg. The lot includes an object of cultural heritage of federal significance, the House of the Second Mutual Credit Society with Outbuildings (an area of 4.4 thousand square meters) and a plot of 0.17 hectares under it. The property is suitable for commercial use, DOM.RF reported.

Applications for participation in the auction are accepted until March 17th. The auction will be held on March 21. The initial price of the lot is 500.6 million rubles.

The house was built in 1907-1909 by architect Fyodor Lidval. After its construction, it was used by the Second Mutual Credit Society (a non-governmental credit organization). During the First World War, the building was occupied by the All-Russian Society for Assistance to Prisoners of War. During the NEP years, the facility was briefly restored to its original function: the Commercial and Industrial Mutual Credit Society was located here. From 1932 to the 1980s, Gosproektstroy, the timber export training plant, the Gosstroy Design Institute and the construction and installation trust were located here. In the 1990s, a branch of the Baltic Bank was located here (closed in 2019). Then the house housed several shops.

The house was included in the register of cultural heritage sites of federal significance in 2017. The security obligation was approved in 2019. The winner of the auction will be obliged to carry out work on the preservation of the object, as well as comply with the requirements for its maintenance and use in accordance with the procedure established by law.
