The first batch of postamates produced in Russia and worked here for more than 11 years has been disposed of at the eco-technological enterprise "Vtoraluminprodukt". This was told by Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the capital, the press service of DIiPP reported.

Old parcel delivery points arrive at the production site, where they are processed into metal briquettes and given to metallurgical enterprises. There the metal is processed and prepared for reuse. And then it goes to manufacturers, where new household items, such as bicycles and chairs, as well as parts for new postamates, can be made from the obtained secondary raw materials.

According to Ilya Kachapin, General Director of PC Vtoraluminprodukt LLC, whose words are quoted in the message, the processing process consists only of mechanical methods: disassembly, crushing, pressing, which makes the process environmentally friendly and safe.

"At the beginning of 2022, we signed an agreement with PickPoint, a large company that delivers parcels through postamates, and launched a project to recycle this equipment in our country. The pedestals belong to the electrical class and they must be disposed of at the end of their service life. As part of the project, we organized the delivery of terminals to the enterprise "Vtoraluminprodukt", where they later passed all stages of processing. Thanks to modern technologies, we extract up to 98% of ferrous and non–ferrous metals that can be reused," I. Kachapin said.

LLC "PC "Vtoraluminprodukt" is an eco-technological processing enterprise for the disposal of all types of electronic and metal-containing waste, as well as for the procurement of scrap of non-ferrous and ferrous metals. Production facilities are located in Moscow and amount to more than 650 thousand tons per year. It is part of the vertically integrated full-cycle industrial and metallurgical holding Akron Holding.

PickPoint is a full–cycle logistics service for the delivery of orders from online stores through the federal network of post offices and order pick-up points.
