Inflation in Russia decreased by 0.02% from April 28 to May 4, 2026, by 0.01% from the beginning of the month, and increased by 3.19% from the beginning of the year. This was reported by Rosstat.
During the period from April 28 to May 4, prices for canned fruit and berry products for baby food increased by 0.6%, chicken meat - by 0.5%.
Prices for fruit and vegetable products decreased by 2.7% on average, including cucumbers – by 11.6%, tomatoes – by 7.5%. Prices for white cabbage increased by 2.8%, onion – by 1.3%.
Prices decreased for chicken eggs by 1%, boiled sausages and rice by 0.4%.
Among the observed medicines, prices increased: for nimesulide – by 0.9%, rengalin – by 0.8%, activated carbon – by 0.5%. Prices for naphazoline decreased by 0.5% and corvalol by 0.1%.
Of the individual types of non–food essentials, prices have increased: for matches – by 1%, baby diapers, sanitary pads - by 0.2%. Prices for washing powders decreased by 0.2%.
Shampoos rose in price by 0.4%, men's socks – by 0.3%. Televisions fell by 0.9%, electric vacuum cleaners – by 0.7%.
Prices for motor gasoline and diesel fuel increased by 0.1%.
The average cost of vacation trips to the Black Sea coast of Russia increased by 8.5%. Vouchers to holiday homes and boarding houses rose in price by 2.8%.
City bus fares increased by 0.3%, and housing fees in state and municipal housing funds increased by 0.1%.
Men's haircuts went up by 0.3%, car washing and women's haircuts – by 0.2%, tooth restoration with a filling – by 0.1%.
