Inflation in Russia in August was 0.2%

Inflation in Russia in August compared to July 2024 was 0.2%, compared to December 2023 — 5.27%. This was reported by Rosstat.

In August, prices for certain types of fruit and vegetable products decreased: grapes — by 17.9%, table beets — by 13.5%, carrots — by 12.3%, potatoes — by 9.2%. Prices increased: oranges — by 10.7%, white cabbage — by 2.5%.

Among other food products, prices increased: butter and cocoa butter — by 2.9%, salmon roe — by 2.3%, olive oil, whole sterilized drinking milk — by 1.7%. Prices have decreased: for chicken eggs — by 1.8%, chicken meat and oatmeal and pearl barley — by 0.5%.

Prices for medicines related to vital and essential medicines (VED) increased by 0.9% on average, including bisacodyl by 8.6%, smectu by 6.5%, omeprazole and enalapril by 0.6%. Prices for acetylcysteine (ACC) and suprastin decreased by 0.9%, xarelto and ingavirin — by 0.4%. Prices for medicines not related to VED have not changed on average.

Among building materials, prices have increased: for euroshafer — by 1.5%, edged boards — by 1.3%, roofing material and oil paints, enamels — by 1.1%.

Among other non—food products, prices increased by 2.9% for coal and 2.1% for freshly cut flowers.

Among the services of foreign tourism, prices increased: for vacation trips to the UAE — by 11.3%, to Egypt — by 8.2%. Prices for trips to the countries of Transcaucasia decreased (-4%).

Among passenger transport services, prices and tariffs have decreased: for travel on long-distance trains (-16.4%), air travel in economy class (-13%).
