The aviation industry development plan provides for a 1.5-fold increase in the intensity of domestic flights over the next 6 years. This was stated by the head of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
It is also planned to modernize and build 75 airports by 2030.
According to the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, whose words are quoted in the message, for 6 months of 2025, Russian airlines transported 50.8 million passengers, and in the summer period — more than 33 million.
Special attention is paid to the situation with short-term flight restrictions that occur in some cities. An action plan has been developed to reduce delays and improve passenger comfort. In addition, Russian Railways helps airlines with the transportation of passengers from alternate airfields.
An important task is the development of regional flights. The share of inter-regional scheduled passenger flights, bypassing Moscow, remains at 53.2%.
In addition, the country is expanding programs to subsidize flights and benefits for passengers. In particular, a 50% discount on tickets is provided for children. More than 3 million children have already been transported under this program.
Work is underway on the import substitution of aviation equipment. Currently, the Federal Air Transport Agency is certifying 10 types of domestic aircraft and 6 types of aircraft engines.
In addition, D.Yadrov spoke about the activities of the State Corporation for the Organization of Air Traffic. It handles about 1.5 million flights annually.
