Italian GEDI plans to sell part of assets to the Greek Antenna Group

The Italian media conglomerate GEDI Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A., controlled by Exor NV, is negotiating with the Greek Antenna Group regarding the possible sale of editorial assets. This is reported by foreign media.

Financial terms were not disclosed. As part of the proposed deal, control of la Repubblica and other major news and radio brands will be transferred to a foreign operator amid consolidation of the Italian media sector to offset declining print sales and growing demand for investments in digital technologies.

Antenna Group is a multinational media company in the field of radio broadcasting, digital technologies and publishing. The company manages a portfolio of media assets on various platforms, including television (channels in Greece, Romania, Hungary and other countries); radio (stations in Greece, Romania); digital platforms and publishing (Daphne Communications S.A.). The company also includes the Antenna Digital Ventures division for creating digital startups. The headquarters is located in Athens (Greece).

GEDI Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A. is an Italian media conglomerate with headquarters in Turin (Italy). GEDI is a subsidiary of Exor and publishes national newspapers — La Repubblica and La Stampa, as well as local publications. GEDI also publishes online newspapers, magazines and owns radio stations and TV channels (Repubblica Radio TV, Deejay TV, myDeejay, Onda Latina).
