The Italian energy company GreenIT S.p.A. has commissioned two solar installations in Piedmont (Italy). This is reported in a press release from Eni.

GreenIT is a joint venture between Plenitude (51%), a subsidiary of Eni, and the Italian investment fund CDP Equity (49%), aimed at implementing the strategy for Italy's transition to clean energy (National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan) by 2030.

Power plants with a total capacity of 19 MW will generate about 30 GWh of electricity per year using 32 thousand two-sided photovoltaic modules. The facilities were built on sites that were previously used for mining, and then were reclaimed and converted into renewable energy production centers.

The project is an important milestone in the industrial development of GreenIT, whose asset portfolio includes more than 300 MW of solar power plants at an advanced stage of development.
