Italy and the Vatican have signed an agreement on the construction of a 430-hectare solar power plant in Santa Maria Galeria, north of Rome. This is reported on the website of the Vatican state.
The installation will be built using advanced technologies to minimize its impact on the environment. The project provides for the conservation of agricultural land, minimizing environmental impacts and protecting the cultural, archaeological and landscape heritage of the region.
This agreement consists of five articles. It will ensure the power supply of the existing radio station, as well as the complete energy self-sufficiency of the Vatican.
