KAMAZ to supply 700 new generation electric buses to Moscow

KAMAZ PJSC and the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans have signed another contract for the supply of a large batch of new generation A5 KAMAZ-52222 electric buses. This was announced by KAMAZ.

Under the terms of the signed agreement, 700 KAMAZ-52222 electric buses will be delivered to Moscow in stages by the end of 2027. As in previous years, the document provides for the maintenance and repair of the supplied equipment by the manufacturer for 15 years. In March 2025, a similar contract was signed for the supply of 400 KAMAZ-52222 electric buses to the Moscow carrier, of which 47 units have already been delivered to the customer's fleet.

Production of the fifth generation of the KAMAZ-52222 electric bus started in March 2025. The car was developed as part of the Universal Modular Passenger Platform project, which will form the basis for the entire range of passenger vehicles of the new generation A5.

The KAMAZ-52222 electric bus has increased its range to 90 km, and more capacious traction batteries have been used. Passenger capacity is 85 people, seating capacity is 35 plus one seat for people with disabilities.

KAMAZ PJSC is a major manufacturer of heavy trucks in Russia. The group's production complex is concentrated in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny (Republic of Tatarstan) and covers the entire technological cycle of truck production — from the development, manufacture, assembly of vehicles and automotive components to the sale of finished products and service support. The Group produces a wide range of products: trucks and special vehicles, electric buses and buses, trailers and semi-trailers for trucks, engines, power units, spare parts.

According to IFRS, KAMAZ's net profit for 2024 amounted to 731 million rubles, a 28—fold decrease from 20.479 billion rubles compared to a year earlier. Consolidated revenue amounted to 393.65 billion rubles against 370.3 billion rubles, showing an increase of 6%. Gross profit increased by 5% to 61.945 billion rubles from 58.797 billion rubles.
