Krasnoye Sormovo to launch new dry bulk carrier

On August 7, 2020, the Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard (operating as part of USC) will launch the Pola Marina dry bulk carrier of project RSD59, the shipyard informed.

The vessel was built as part of a series of 11 bulk carriers for PJSC STLC.

To recap, in March 2019, Krasnoe Sormovo signed a bilateral contract with State Transport Leasing Company for the construction of a third series of 11 dry bulk carriers of project RSD59.

JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) was established on March 21, 2007 pursuant to Russian President Vladimir Putin's decree No. 394. The Government of Russia holds 100% of USC shares.

USC is Russia's biggest shipbuilding company. The holding comprises about 40 design and engineering centers, dedicated R&D centers, shipyards, ship repair facilities and machine-building enterprises consolidating most of Russia's total shipbuilding capacities. USC companies are active in all major port and transport hubs of Russia from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, from Murmansk to Astrakhan, employing about 95,000 people.

PJSC Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (tax number: 5263006629) is one of the oldest ship-building enterprises founded in 1849. The company is operating as part of United Shipbuilding Corporation.

PJSC State transport leasing company (STLC) is the largest leasing company in Russia. The company leases air, water and rail transport vehicles, motor and special equipment to domestic transport companies, invests in the development of the domestic transport infrastructure. The sole shareholder of the company is the Russian Federation represented by the Ministry of Transport.
