Alexander Popov, CEO of Metalloinvest, spoke at the INNOPROM international industrial exhibition as part of the session of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation "Main trends in the development of the ferrous metallurgy industry of the Russian Federation in the medium term — Challenges and opportunities." This is stated in the company's message.

During the discussion, Alexander Popov spoke about the development of cooperation between Metalloinvest and Russian machine-building enterprises, which is becoming one of the key factors in increasing production efficiency and strengthening technological sovereignty.

"After the departure of foreign suppliers, cooperation with Russian machine builders has reached a qualitatively new level: from the purchase of individual units, we have moved on to integrated engineering — the development of design solutions, the manufacture of equipment, its installation, commissioning and further modernization. This approach allows us to create modern, efficient and reliable production complexes," said Alexander Popov.

Uralmashzavod is one of Metalloinvest's key technology partners. Over the past 10 years, the companies have jointly implemented a number of projects, including the construction of crushing and conveyor complex No. 2 at Mikhailovsky GOK, the modernization of the roasting machine complex at Oskol Electrometallurgical Combine, the supply of quarry excavators, mills and crushing equipment. At the same time, in a number of projects, domestic solutions have demonstrated higher technological characteristics compared to their foreign counterparts.

Crushing and conveyor complex No. 2 at Mikhailovsky GOK has completed pilot operation and achieved a design productivity of 2.4 million per month.

Another example of such interaction was the modernization of equipment at Lebedinsky GOK, where new mills provide increased productivity, as well as the reconstruction of the roasting machine complex at OEMK, which made it possible to completely abandon foreign engineering and increase equipment productivity by more than 11%.

The USM Group, which includes Metalloinvest, is implementing the Mikhailovsky GBJ project in the Kursk Region. For the first time in Russia, an enterprise for the production of hot briquetted iron is being created using key technological equipment designed and manufactured by domestic machine-building enterprises. Uralmashzavod is the main partner in the development of design documentation and the production of equipment for new production.
