Microsoft will have to take into account the requirements set by US President Donald Trump as regards the sale of Tik Tok, Vedomosti informed referring to a statement by Microsoft co-founder and technology adviser Bill Gates.

Mr. Gates called the principles on which the deal is based strange, and Donald Trump's hint about the US Treasury needing some type of 'cut' from any acquisition 'doubly strange'. B. Gates called the deal a 'poisoned chalice' adding that he did not know what was going to happen with the deal.

Earlier, Vedomosti wrote that Donald Trump signed two executive orders prohibiting US citizens from dealing with Chinese companies ByteDance and Tencent, as well as their subsidiaries. These companies own the Tiktok short video service and the WeChat messenger.
