Slagservice has completed the construction of an anhydrous blast furnace slag cooling site. The cost of the project, which was implemented within the framework of MMK's strategic initiative "Clean City", amounted to about 3 billion rubles. This was announced by MMK.

The new technology will completely eliminate the release of hydrogen sulfide, as well as reduce dust emissions into the atmosphere by 2 times or almost 100 tons.

"The slag will cool down to ambient temperature by itself. After that, with the help of excavators, it will be loosened and loaded onto vehicles for further processing," said Sergey Masyanov, director of Slagservice LLC, quoted in the message.

LLC Shlakservice is a part of PJSC MMK, the company was established in April 2005. The organization processes all the slags coming from the blast furnace, oxygen converter and electric steelmaking workshops of MMK.

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works PJSC (TIN 7414003633) is a steel manufacturer. The company's assets in Russia represent a metallurgical complex with a full production cycle, starting with the preparation of iron ore raw materials and ending with the deep processing of ferrous metals.

MMK's net profit for the first quarter of 2024 increased by 20.5% to RUB 23.7 billion. compared to the first quarter of 2023. Revenue increased by 25.5% to RUB 192.95 billion, EBITDA increased by 27.8% to RUB 42.15 billion.
