The volume of net sales of foreign currency by the largest exporters in October 2025 increased by 68% to $8.2 billion compared to the previous month, remaining at the level of the average values for 2025. The average daily sales amounted to $358 million. This is reported in the materials of the Bank of Russia.
The total demand for foreign currency from legal entities, excluding banks, rose to 3 trillion rubles in October from 2.8 trillion rubles in September. In 2025, the average monthly demand was 2.5 trillion rubles. due to the "drawdown" in April–July of this year.
The volume of purchases of foreign currency by individuals on the exchange and over-the-counter markets in October increased to 158.6 billion rubles from 86.6 billion rubles in September. The average monthly purchase level from January to September of this year was 84.4 billion rubles.
The regulator explains the increase in the volume of currency purchases by individuals as one-time factors. Significant purchases were observed by a limited number of individuals who sent funds to foreign currency deposits.
