New rules for registration of foreign food producers have begun to operate in the Chinese CIFER system. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Thus, on June 1, 2026, the following came into force in China: order of the General Administration of Customs of China No. 280 approving new regulations on the management of registration of foreign manufacturers of imported food products; notification No. 27 dated March 18, 2026 on the procedure for their implementation.
The State Technical University of China has upgraded the CIFER system. It has added: a new channel for submitting information about company applications; the function of auto-renewal of the registration period for a number of products; tips in the form of pop-up windows.
In addition, the system has increased the time for submitting an application for renewal of registration for certain types of products from 3-6 months to 3-12 months before its expiration date.
