Norilsk Nickel consolidates production of precious metals in Monchegorsk

MMC Norilsk Nickel is changing the production chain of precious metals. This is reported on the company's website.

The processing of the cake of the cinder of copper sludge is being transferred from Norilsk. The transfer of processing of one of the intermediate products of the Copper Plant to the Kola site will increase metal recovery, speed up the production process and reduce costs. The tests have been completed, and the changes will start working in July 2026, the report says.

The project required the modernization of the chemical and metallurgical workshop of the Kola MMC. For example, calcination furnaces, filters, storage equipment, pumping stations, and pipelines have been replaced. The volume of investments amounted to 500 million rubles.

Norilsk Nickel's net profit under IFRS for 2025 increased by 36% to $2.47 billion from $1.8 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 10% to $13.76 billion from $12.5 billion, and EBITDA increased by 9% to $5.67 billion from $5.19 billion.

According to RA AK&M, by the end of 2024, Norilsk Nickel is among the leaders of the fifth ranking of the largest Russian companies' responsibility to society.
