The number of car loans provided in the Russian Federation increased by 5% in January 2021. 65.3 thousand new and used cars were purchased on credit, according to a joint press release by the National Bureau of Credit Histories and AUTOSTAT market research agency.
The volume of the new passenger car market decreased by 7.4% year-on-year to 97.1 thousand in January 2021.
The leading regions in the number of auto loans include Moscow (5.3 thousand), Moscow region (4.2 thousand), St. Petersburg (3.8 thousand), the Republics of Tatarstan (3 thousand) and Bashkortostan (2.7 thousand), and Krasnodar krai (2.7 thousand).
