Passenger traffic on the Moscow Railways increased by 6.3 in January-August%

Passenger traffic on the Moscow Railways (a branch of Russian Railways) in January-August 2024 increased by 6.3% to 517.2 million compared to a year earlier. Passenger traffic in suburban traffic amounted to 497.4 million (+6.3%), in long–distance traffic - about 20 million (+7.3%). This is stated in the company's message.

In August 2024, 65.3 million passengers were transported on the infrastructure of the Moscow Railway, which is 8.2% more than in August of the previous year, of which 62.3 million people (+8.4%) were sent in suburban traffic, about 3 million people (+3.4%) in long–distance travel.

JSC Russian Railways (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.

Russian Railways' net profit under IFRS in the first half of 2024 amounted to 114.052 billion rubles, a decrease of 11.4% compared to the same period in 2023. The holding's revenues increased by 8.5% to 1.599 trillion rubles.
