Passenger traffic on the Russian Railways network in January-July 2026 increased by 0.2% to 748.3 million compared to a year earlier. This is stated in the company's message.
Commuter passenger traffic increased by 0.4% to 676.1 million, while long—distance passenger traffic decreased by 1.8% to 72.2 million.
Passenger turnover decreased by 2.4% and amounted to 79.6 billion passenger kilometers.
In July 2026, 122 million passengers left Russian Railways train stations, which is 1.7% less than in the same period of 2025. Commuter passenger traffic fell by 2.4% to 106.9 million, while long—distance passenger traffic increased by 3.8% to 15.1 million. Passenger turnover fell by 1% to 17 billion passenger kilometers.
JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.
Russian Railways' RAS net profit for 2025 increased by 1.4% to 14.1 billion rubles from 13.8 billion rubles a year earlier. EBITDA amounted to 984.2 billion rubles with an increase of 16.3%.
Russian Railways' financial expenses in 2025 amounted to 534.1 billion rubles, which is why net profit for 2025 under IFRS decreased to 2.3 billion rubles from 50.7 billion rubles in 2024. Revenue from passenger transportation increased by 13% to RUB 473.1 billion.
