Passenger traffic on the Russian Railways network in the first 8 months of 2025 increased by 2.1% to 863.8 million compared to a year earlier. Passenger traffic in suburban traffic increased by 2.3% to 775.7 million, in long–distance traffic - by 0.2% to 88.1 million. Passenger turnover decreased by 0.5% and amounted to 98.8 billion passenger kilometers. This is stated in the company's message.
In August 2025, 117.1 million passengers left Russian Railways train stations, which is 0.2% higher than in the same period of 2024, including the number of passengers sent in suburban traffic increased by 0.2% to 102.5 million, and in long–distance traffic it decreased by 0.1% to 14.6 million.
JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.
The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to RUB 3.29 trillion.
