Qatar is negotiating with American companies to supply LNG under long-term contracts amid the Middle East crisis. This is reported by foreign media.
In particular, the state-owned company QatarEnergy is interested in LNG supplies from export facilities in an effort to find alternative sources to expand its gas portfolio.
Qatar has access to some supplies from the United States through a stake in the Golden Pass LNG plant in Texas, which began exporting in April and is seeking to ramp up production.
Qatar previously supplied about a fifth of the world's LNG and promoted an ambitious plan to double production at the Ras Laffan LNG export plant by 2030. However, the world's largest factory was damaged in the first weeks of the conflict.
QatarEnergy is Qatar's national oil and gas company for the exploration, production and sale of crude oil, natural gas and LNG, refined petroleum products, fuel additives, fertilizers, etc. In addition, the company owns assets in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Congo, Mozambique, Cyprus, Oman and other countries. The headquarters is located in Doha (Qatar).
