The Russian environmental operator has built 997 digital models of municipal solid waste (MSW) disposal facilities in 2022-2024. This is stated in the message of the REO.
Digital twins allow you to assess the condition of polygons and determine the remaining period of their operation. This helps to identify violations at landfills in a timely manner and take measures to eliminate them, as well as predict capacity shortages.
The main task is to study the need of the regions for aerial laser scanning of polygons throughout the year. The process of creating 3D polygon models includes several stages. Thermal imagers and gas analyzers installed on aircraft help predict smoldering and fires at landfills, as well as determine the composition of released substances.
All data obtained as a result of laser scanning is uploaded to the information system for monitoring MSW facilities. This system was developed in 2023-2024 to process flyby results and is equipped with its own neural network for data analysis.
