Reshetnev JSC (part of Roscosmos) and FSUE Kosmicheskaya Svyaz have signed contracts for the creation of four telecommunications spacecraft. This was announced by Roscosmos.
All satellites should be produced by the end of 2029. The total value of the contract is 65.95 billion rubles.
The spacecraft are being created within the framework of the federal project "Infrastructure of access to the information and telecommunication network"Internet" of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State". The satellites will be launched into orbit by Proton launch vehicles with Briz-M upper stages, which is provided for by the federal project "Satellite Communications and Earth Observation" of the national Cosmos project.
Express-AMU6 (orbital position 53° EAST) is designed for broadcasting, data transmission, mobile communications, telephony, as well as broadband access and multimedia. AMU6 is to replace the Express-AM6 spacecraft in orbit.
Express-40 (orbital position 40° east) has the same functionality as AMU6. The spacecraft will replace the Express-AM7, which is scheduled to last until 2029.
Express-AMU51 and Express-AMU52 (140° C) are being created to replace the Express-AM5 and Express-AT2 spacecraft in the same orbital position.
Express-AMU51 is designed for direct television and radio broadcasting, data transmission and communication on mobile objects.
Express-AMU52 will complement AMU51 at 140° C without interference-frequency conflicts, designed for television and radio broadcasting and data transmission services in the Ka band.
