Rosatom and the Vietnamese Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 have agreed to cooperate on the Ninh Thuan-1 project. This was announced by Rosatom.
At World Atomic Week, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, which laid the foundation for cooperation between the parties in the framework of the nuclear power plant project in Vietnam. The document is aimed at combining efforts in updating the feasibility study and dossier of the site for the first Ninh Thuan-1 NPP in Vietnam. The memorandum also provides for deepening cooperation in the development of the electric grid and logistics infrastructure, training specialists in other areas.
The agreements reached develop the initiative of the parties to resume the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Vietnam, which received an impetus in January 2025 following the visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to the country, as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the development of cooperation in the nuclear field between Rosatom Energy Projects JSC and the Electric Power Corporation of Vietnam.
