Rosatom spent 29 billion rubles on environmental protection in 2023

The total environmental protection costs of Rosatom and its organizations in 2023 amounted to 29 billion rubles, which is 18% more than in 2022. This is stated in the company's message.

Investments in fixed assets for environmental purposes amounted to 6.5 billion rubles (in 2022 – 4.9 billion rubles), among them the main amount of funds is directed to the protection and rational use of water resources and to the protection of atmospheric air.

The share of emissions of pollutants from Rosatom organizations in the total volume of emissions in the Russian Federation in 2023 amounted to 0.2%. In particular, at all nuclear power plants, gross emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere did not exceed the values of established standards, in 2023 the volume of emissions amounted to 28% of the permitted level.
