Rosatom will deal with the waste disposal of the closed chemical plant "Nairit" in Yerevan. This is stated in the message of Rosatom.

Currently, together with our Armenian colleagues, we are actively working on the most significant sources of environmental risks and key priority steps to eliminate accumulated harm.

In Soviet times, the plant was a monopolist in the production of rubber. In 1989, under pressure from the environmental movement, the NGO Nairit was closed and fell into disrepair. Attempts to restart production were unsuccessful.

The State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom is a multi–profile holding that combines assets in the energy, mechanical engineering, and construction sectors.
