Rostechnadzor demanded to bring Norilsk Nickel to justice

The Yenisei Department of Rostechnadzor demanded that MMC Norilsk Nickel be held accountable for failure to provide operational information about the incident. This is stated in the message of Rostechnadzor.

The Rostechnadzor Department has established the fact of late provision of operational information about the incident that occurred on June 5, 2022 at the underground site of the hazardous production facility "Komsomolsky Mine" of the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel (Krasnoyarsk Territory).

MMC Norilsk Nickel, in violation of the requirements of the procedure for conducting a technical investigation of the causes of the accident, incidents and cases of loss of industrial explosives at facilities supervised by Rostechnadzor, sent an operational message to the Department within a period exceeding 24 hours from the moment of the incident.

Taking into account the revealed violation, on June 17, 2022, the department drew up a protocol on an administrative offense under Article 19.7 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The materials of the administrative case were transferred under the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court of the Central District of Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, demanding that MMC Norilsk Nickel be held accountable.
