Russian President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Toh Lam have adopted a joint declaration on the main directions of Russian-Vietnamese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership at a new stage. This will be reported on the Kremlin's website.
In particular, the declaration emphasizes that the leadership of the two countries supports the creation of favorable conditions for expanding the activities of Russian oil and gas operators on the Vietnamese continental shelf and Vietnamese oil and gas companies in the Russian Federation.
The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy and the oil and gas industry, as well as in ensuring energy security by improving the efficiency of existing and promoting new energy and oil and gas projects, including the supply and processing of crude oil and liquefied natural gas from Russia to Vietnam.
The willingness to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the construction of new and modernization of existing electric power facilities was confirmed.
Russia and Vietnam have agreed to cooperate in the mining industry, transport, shipbuilding and mechanical engineering, railway modernization, and expansion of transport corridors between the two countries in order to promote trade and investment.
The importance of increasing cooperation in the field of agriculture, fisheries and forestry was noted, including increasing the supply of agricultural products and their promotion to each other's markets, as well as stimulating the business circles of the two countries to establish appropriate joint ventures.
