Russia has already supplied 70 million tons of food to world markets in 2024. This is 8% more than a year earlier. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut, the ministry said in a statement.

Wheat supplies to Africa and Asia are expanding. They began exporting barley to Qatar, wheat to Serbia, oilseeds to Morocco and Vietnam. India and Egypt bought Russian juices for the first time.

Agricultural production increased by 2% in January-July, and food production increased by almost 5%.

In 2023, Russia supplied more than 100 million tons of food to world markets. The volume of supplies to foreign markets amounted to $43.5 billion, imports – $35.2 billion. Flour exports exceeded 1 million tons for the first time in history, an increase of a quarter compared to the previous year, O.Lut noted.
