In 2024, Russia supplied 5.7 million tons of sunflower oil to foreign markets. This is 31% higher than in 2023, Agroexport said.
The volume of sunflower oil exports from the Russian Federation was a record. For the first time in history, the annual volume of exports exceeded 5 million tons, the report emphasizes.
India ranks first among buyers of Russian sunflower oil. The volume of exports to this country increased 2.4 times last year to 2.2 million tons. India accounted for 39% of shipments of Russian sunflower oil. The largest volume of exports was recorded in October, when 320 thousand tons of sunflower oil from the Russian Federation were delivered to India – more than 50% of the total volume of Russian exports this month.
Turkey is in second place. Exports to this country in 2024 increased 1.5 times to 840 thousand tons. China ranked third among importers of Russian sunflower oil. Last year, Russia supplied 590 thousand tons of sunflower oil to China, which is 35% less than the volume of 2023.
