Russia's 11-month positive trade balance down 42.7%

In January-November 2020, Russia's positive trade balance decreased by 42.7% to $92.7 billion. Foreign trade turnover dropped by 16.3% to $511.4 billion. Exports The decreased by 21.8% to $302 billion, imports by 6.8% to $209.3 billion, according to information from the Federal Customs Service.

Fuel and energy products traditionally formed the backbone of exports from Russia (50.4% against 62.7% in January-November 2019. Such products accounted for 54.7% of exports to non-CIS countries (67.6% in January-November 2019), 24.5% of the exports to CIS countries (28.8% in January-November 2019).

Machines and equipment contributed most to imports into Russia (47.5% against 45.9% in January-November 2019). Such products accounted for 50.7% of imports from non-CIS countries (49.1% in January-November 2019), 21% of the imports from CIS countries (20.9% in January-November 2019).
