Russia's 4-month trade balance surplus down 8.4%

In January-April 2021, the positive trade balance of the Russian Federation decreased by 8.4% to $41.2 billion, according to Russia's Federal Customs Service.

Foreign trade turnover increased by 16% to $217.8 billion. Exports grew by 11.3% to $129.5 billion, imports by 23.7% to $88.3 billion.

Fuel and energy products accounted for 52.1% of total exports (58.1% in January-April 2020). Machines and equipment contributed most to imports (49.6% (vs. 45.7% a year earlier).
