The volume of foreign trade of the Russian Federation in January-May 2025 amounted to $271.7 billion. This is 3.2% less than in the same period last year, according to data from the Federal Customs Service.
Exports decreased by 6.2% to $162.1 billion, imports increased by 1.7% to $109.5 billion. The trade surplus decreased by 19.3% to $52.6 billion.
Mineral products continued to form the basis of Russian exports. Their share in the commodity structure of exports reached 56.2%. In the commodity structure of imports, machinery, equipment and other goods accounted for the largest share and amounted to 48.4%.
The main trading partners of the Russian Federation were the countries of the Asian region with exports of $123.3 billion, imports of $73.4 billion. The volume of exports with European countries amounted to $24.1 billion, imports – $27.9 billion. Exports from the countries of the American continent amounted to $5.5 billion, imports – $6.2 billion, from Africa - $9.2 billion and $2 billion, respectively.
