Russia will increase coal supplies to India by 5 times to 40 million tons per year

Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov and Indian Steel Industry Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the supply of coking coal. This is stated in the message of the ministry.

The agreement is aimed at increasing the supply of coking coal for metallurgy to 40 million tons per year. Now the volume of coal supplies to India is 8 million tons.

In addition, the document will stimulate Russian and Indian enterprises in the development of coal deposits, the development of coal logistics and infrastructure, the promotion of R&D in production, education and training for the Indian coal industry.
