Russian exports of fish and seafood increased by 19% in the first quarter

Russian exports of fish and seafood in the first quarter of 2026 exceeded $1.7 billion, which is 19% more than a year earlier. The average price of exported products exceeded $3 thousand per ton. This was reported by Agroexport.

Shipments to China increased by 53% to over $1 billion. The Republic of Korea is in second place: exports to this country increased by 5% to $398 million. The Netherlands also entered the top 5 buyers of domestic seafood and fish - $85 million, Belarus - $42 million and Norway - $23 million.

Among the categories of exported products, sales of frozen fish became the growth driver: the volume increased by 26% to $944 million (including exports of pollock ice cream showed an increase of 45%, cod — by 58%, haddock — by 63%).

The second most popular category is crustaceans. Shipments to foreign markets increased by 22% to almost $570 million.

In addition, fish fillets were exported for $120 million, fish meal (non—edible) for $60 million, dried and salted fish for $16 million, canned fish for $13 million.
