Russian Post and Skolkovo Ventures have created a company for the development of unmanned delivery technologies — Consortium BAS LLC.

The new company was registered on September 2, 2022, the authorized capital — 10 million rubles. "Russian Post" received 40% in the new company, Skolkovo Ventures — 60%. This is stated in the message of the parties.

Recall that on March 24, 2022, the Government of the Russian Federation by its decree approved the program of an experimental legal regime in the field of digital innovations for the operation of unmanned aircraft systems in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Krai, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Drones in these regions, first of all, will be used to deliver mail and cargo. The initiator of the project was the Russian Post and a number of other companies, the Ministry of Economic Development reported in March. The duration of the experiment will be three years.

JSC "Russian Post" is a digital postal and logistics company. It is included in the list of strategic enterprises. The regional network of the Russian Post includes 42 thousand post offices throughout the country. The company processes about 3.5 billion postal items annually. Russian Post is a provider of postal, social, financial and digital services for the population.

The net loss of JSC "Russian Post" under IFRS in the first half of 2022 amounted to 19.6 billion rubles, an increase of 6.1 times year-on-year. Revenue of the Russian Post increased by 2.7% to 106.97 billion rubles. Operating expenses increased by 23.9% to RUB 131.41 billion.

Skolkovo Ventures is an investment platform for attracting external financing, managing venture funds, developing and launching new financial products for fast–growing high-tech companies.
