Russian Railways increased passenger transportation by 1.8% in 7 months

Russian Railways transported 742.9 million passengers in 7 months of 2025. This is 1.8% higher than in the same period of 2024, according to the telegram channel of Russian Railways.

Including: 669.3 million passengers were transported on commuter trains (+2%), 73.6 million on long–distance trains (+0.3%).

In July, 120.2 million passengers were transported on the Russian Railways network. This is 1.5% more than in the same period last year. Of these, 105.6 million (+1.8%) were transported in suburban traffic, 14.6 million (-0.8%) in long–distance traffic.

JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.

Loading on the Russian Railways network in January-June 2025 fell by 7.6% to 554.5 million tons compared to a year earlier. Passenger traffic increased by 2.6% to 626.9 million.

The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to 3.29 trillion rubles.
