Russian Railways resumes direct rail service on Moscow - Almaty route

Russian Railways, in coordination with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, is resuming direct rail service on the Moscow - Almaty route. This is stated in the message of Russian Railways.

Non-stop carriages will run every other day. Travel time is about 3.5 days.

They will depart from Almaty on October 26 at 20:00 (local time) as part of train No. 7/8 Almaty – Saratov; from Moscow on October 30 at 19:27 as part of train No. 85/86 Moscow – Derbent.

Stops for boarding/disembarking passengers are provided in the cities of Taraz, Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Uralsk, Saratov, Rtishchevo, Tambov, Michurinsk, Ryazan and other settlements.

The direct railway connection between Almaty and Moscow was suspended in 2017.

JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.

The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to RUB 3.29 trillion.

Russian Railways is one of the leaders in the social efficiency rating of the largest Russian companies.
