Russian Railways resumes direct railway service Pyongyang – Moscow and Pyongyang – Khabarovsk

Russian Railways is resuming direct Pyongyang—Moscow and Pyongyang—Khabarovsk railway services. This is stated in the company's message.

In coordination with the Ministry of Railways of the DPRK, international non—stop railcars will resume running between Pyongyang and Moscow from June 17, and between Pyongyang and Khabarovsk from June 19.

In communication with Moscow, the service is provided twice a month: from Pyongyang — on the 3rd and 17th of each month, arriving in the Russian capital on the 11th and 25th, respectively, from Moscow — on the 12th and 26th of each month, arriving in the capital of the DPRK on the 20th and 4th, respectively.

Pyongyang — Moscow is the longest non-stop railway route in the world: the distance between the capitals of the states is more than 10 thousand km, and the travel time is 8 days.

Stops are provided at the stations Khasan, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, Chita, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Kirov, Kostroma and so on.

JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.

The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to RUB 3.29 trillion.

Loading on the Russian Railways network in January-May 2025 fell by 7.3% to 465.2 million tons compared to a year earlier. Passenger traffic increased by 2.2% to 507.5 million compared to a year earlier.
