Russian Railways: transportation of ferrous metals for export increased by 15.9% in January-July

Over the 7 months of 2025, 14.5 million tons of ferrous metallurgy products were exported via the Russian Railways network. Of these, 1.5 million tons were transported in containers (almost 48 thousand TEU, an increase of 1.6 times). Shipments of ferrous metals for export increased by 15.9% year-on-year, the company said in a statement.

Most of them (10.3 million tons, +17.6%) were shipped to ports in the South – 6.5 million tons (+17.9%), the Northwest - 2.5 million tons (+22.9%), the Far East – 1.3 million tons (+4.6%).

4.1 million tons were exported through border crossings (+11.2%).

JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.

The net profit of Russian Railways holding in 2024 according to IFRS amounted to 50.7 billion rubles against 170.08 billion rubles a year earlier. The reduction is 70%. The total revenues of the holding increased by 9.2% to RUB 3.29 trillion.
