The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsivilev approved the scheme and program for the development of Russian electric power systems for 2025-2030. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

The growth of electric energy consumption in the Unified Energy System of Russia is projected to reach 1.298 trillion kWh by 2030, with an average annual growth rate of 2.11% in electric energy consumption.

The forecast of electric energy consumption for technologically isolated territorial electric power systems assumes its increase by 2030 to 18.5 billion kWh with an average annual growth rate of electric energy consumption of 2.23%.

The greatest dynamics is shown by the ECO of the East, which is projected to increase to 64.09 billion kWh by 2030 from 45.95 billion kWh in 2023 with an average annual growth rate of electricity consumption of 4.87%.

The maximum power consumption in the Unified Energy System of Russia will increase by 18 GW relative to 2023 to 186.7 GW with an average annual growth rate of maximum power consumption of 1.46%.

By 2030, it is projected to put into operation generating equipment with a total volume of 17341.4 MW, including 3,850 MW at nuclear power plants, 7876.2 MW at thermal power plants (of which 5354.2 MW on gas, 2,095 MW on coal and 427 MW on other fuels), 1091.4 MW at hydroelectric power plants and 4523.8 MW.

The SiPR of the EES names four territories of technologically necessary generation in the Unified Energy System of Russia, where the construction of power generation facilities is recommended. In particular, in the South-Eastern part of the ECO of Siberia in the amount of at least 1,462 MW, in the ECO of the East in the amount of at least 678 MW (guaranteed generation) and about 1,700 MW of renewable energy generation, in the South-Western part of the ECO of the South in the amount of at least 1,926 MW, taking into account earlier decisions on the construction of generation at Taurida Thermal power plants (250 MW) and Shock thermal power plants (250 MW), also in the power system of Moscow and the Moscow region in the amount of at least 950 MW.

In technologically isolated territorial electric power systems, four energy districts are also classified as territories of technologically necessary generation where it is recommended to build facilities for the production of electric energy with a total installed capacity of at least 460 MW.

The SiPR of the EES of Russia confirmed plans to combine the OES of Siberia and the OES of the East for parallel synchronous operation, as well as to organize additional intersystem connections between the OES of Siberia and the OES of the Urals.
