Salary arrears in Russia as of September 1 increased by 15.4%

The total wage arrears in Russia as of September 1, 2022 amounted to 845 million rubles and increased by 112.9 million rubles compared to August 1, 2022. (by 15.4%). This was reported by Rosstat.

Of the total amount of unpaid wages as of September 1, debts incurred in 2022 accounted for 362 million rubles (42.9%), in 2021 – 129.6 million rubles (15.3%), in 2020 and earlier – 353.4 million rubles (41.8%).

The share of employees of the surveyed organizations to whom there were wage arrears as of September 1 was less than 1%.

By type of economic activity, the number of employees to whom there was debt was distributed as follows: manufacturing – 44%; provision of electric energy, gas and steam; air conditioning – 10.9%; agriculture, hunting and provision of services in these areas; logging – 9%; construction – 8.2%; mining - 7.6%; water supply; sanitation, waste collection and disposal, pollution elimination activities – 6.3%; research and development – 5.7%; transport – 5%.
