Severstal to increase shipments by Freight One cars

Freight One will transport the growing volume of products from Yakovlevsky GOK, the iron ore mining and processing asset of Severstal, the company informed.

For the 9-month period in 2020, Yakovlevsky GOK increased loading into freight cars 2.5 times year-on-year to more than 780,000 tonnes. The freight turnover in this segment increased 2.3 times to 1 billion tonne-kilometers.

JSC Freight One (tax number: 7708643971) is the leading privately-owned rail transport operator in Russia. The company provides the whole range of freight transport services. Freight One operates about 115,000 rolling stock units, including gondola cars, tank cars, flatcars and cars of other types. The company has a regional network consisting of branches in 14 cities of Russia, as well as a branch in Kazakhstan and a joint venture in Finland. Freight One is part of the rail business of Universal Cargo Logistics Holding (UCL Holding), an international transport group. Besides rail assets, the group unites stevedoring companies in the Northwest and the south of Russia, as well as large Russian shipping assets.

IFRS revenue of Freight One for 2019 increased by 4% year-on-year to RUB 86.1 billion. EBITDA went up 17% to RUB 45.1 billion. Free cash flow amounted to RUB 19.6 billion. The company's net debt stood at RUB 12.8 billion at the end of 2019 versus RUB 5.8 billion a year earlier.
