The Federation Council approved amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in terms of clarifying control and supervisory measures regarding plant products imported into Russia from foreign countries. This is stated in the message of the upper house of parliament.
The conceptual framework of the law "On the Safe Handling of Pesticides and Agrochemicals" is supplemented by the definition of a new term "audit of foreign testing laboratories (centers)", which refers to the activities of conducting inspections of foreign legal entities conducting laboratory research in order to determine the residual amount of active substances of pesticides and agrochemicals in plant products intended for import into the country from States that are not members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The law clarifies the definition of "state registration of pesticides and agrochemicals", "laboratory studies of pesticides and agrochemicals", "Russian testing laboratory (center)" and "foreign testing laboratory (center)".
In addition, the law is supplemented by a new article 201 regulating the procedure for laboratory tests of pesticides and agrochemicals, which are the selection and examination of samples and samples of pesticides and agrochemicals in order to determine their compliance with the requirements of national legislation.
The list of foreign states that are not members of the Eurasian Economic Union, whose laboratories will be subject to the specified audit, in accordance with the law, will be established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
