Southern Kuzbass expands fleet of special vehicles

Southern Kuzbass (operating as part of Mechel Group) has purchased a KAMAZ drop-side truck with an articulated crane unit for RUB 7.5 million, the company informed.

The special vehicle will be used for repairs at Southern Kuzbass's open pits, mines and processing plants for fast delivery of components and equipment elements.

The truck is equipped with an articulated crane capable of lifting up to 7 tonnes, the crane boom can extend almost nine meters. Besides, the KAMAZ truck the body can carry up to 6 tonnes of cargoes.

The 300 HP engine and six driving wheels ensure increased cross-country capacity for the special vehicle while moving along the industrial roads of Southern Kuzbass.

Southern Kuzbass Coal Company was formed in 1993 as several mining and processing enterprises joined forces. The company is operating as part of Mechel PAO, one of the world's leading companies in the mining and metal sector. Headquartered in Mezhdurechensk (Kemerovo region), Southern Kuzbass Coal Company possesses sufficient reserves of coal, coaking and power generating coal to ensure sustainable performance of the open pits and mines in the long term.

IFRS loss of Southern Kuzbass Coal Company for the first half of 2020 amounted to RUB 10.008 billion against a profit of RUB 6.017 billion a year earlier. Revenue from contracts with customers decreased by 12.4% to RUB 16.775 billion from RUB 19.143 billion, gross profit by 48% to RUB 3.81 billion from RUB 7.361 billion. Operating loss was RUB 159.444 million against a profit of RUB 4.484 billion.
