Irregular items reduced profits in both periods, so all of its growth was provided by regular business. Regular net profit increased 2.5 times, from 19.5 billion rubles to 49.3 billion rubles.
The net interest margin reached 7.2% versus 4.5%. The cost of funding decreased from 17.4% to 12.4%. Net interest income increased by 70.4% to RUB 124.7 billion.
In the second quarter, net profit amounted to 25.6 billion rubles, 30% more than in the first quarter, and 5.1 times more than a year earlier.
Despite the inclusion of Capital Life and Capital Medical Insurance in the perimeter, operating expenses increased by only 4.7%, to 80.2 billion rubles. The expense-to-income ratio decreased from 64.0% to 46.4%. Shareholders' equity increased by 20.3% and reached RUB 425.8 billion.
