In March 2023, growth was observed in the Russian engineering industry for the first time in more than a year. The total production in the five machine-building industries was 8.2% higher than in March 2022. At the same time, the observed value of the level of recovery growth is influenced by the effect of the low base of last year. In general, according to Rosstat, for the first quarter of 2023, the total turnover of enterprises in all sectors of mechanical engineering decreased by 0.6% compared to the same period in 2022. Growth was observed in four of the five sectors. The cumulative result was influenced by a significant decline in the production of motor vehicles. At the same time, the seasonally adjusted PMI index of Russia's manufacturing industries, which tracks the general market situation, amounted to 52.6 points in April 2023, down from 53.2 points in March, but it is still significantly above the critical mark of 50 points.
Novosibirsk company "Lissib" has launched the production of ventilation equipment and components in Samara. Investments in the opening of a new production site amounted to about 240 million rubles. The main products of the Samara site will be round and rectangular air ducts, shaped elements and details of ventilation systems. These products make up the bulk of any ventilation system. Production is 100% localized — only domestic raw materials are used. After reaching full capacity, it is planned to produce up to 510 thousand square meters of ducts and shaped elements per year at the production complex in Samara.
In May 2023, three general directors of the plants were replaced in the United Shipbuilding Corporation. Thus, Yuri Gordienkov was appointed General Director of the Baltic Shipyard, Vladimir Katyshev was approved for the position of general director of the Vimpel shipbuilding plant. Finally, Mikhail Borovsky headed the Amur Shipbuilding Plant.
AVTOTOR company together with its partners on the basis of the existing production has released the first samples of commercial electric vehicles. Trucks of small and medium tonnage, fully equipped with electric motors, are undergoing test tests. In addition to the production of electric vehicles, AVTOTOR is working on the technology to replace the internal combustion engine with an electric power plant on cars in operation under the remotorization program. The basis is taken from the own developments of the electric motor and control systems. In terms of trucks, both of these areas — the production of electric vehicles and remotorization, are primarily focused on meeting demand in the Kaliningrad region and in other regions of Russia.
