American automotive components manufacturer First Brands Group plans to sell its remaining auto parts businesses, including a supplier of components for Ford Motor Co. This is reported in a press release from First Brands.

The deal is aimed at saving thousands of jobs amid the bankruptcy of the company, which is trying to avoid the closure of enterprises. In September 2025, First Brands filed for bankruptcy in the state of Texas after a significant reduction in revenue.

Three of the four businesses that the company hopes to sell in the coming weeks produce parts for Ford Motor Company, which supports the operation of some First Brands units by paying for the parts upfront and financing administrative costs.

From the point of view of analysts, Ford is the most at risk of bankruptcy of all major automakers.

First Brands Group is an American automotive parts manufacturing company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. The company owns the brands Trico, FRAM, Raybestos and Autolite. In 2024, First Brands Group's revenue exceeded $5 billion.
